Indian Dosa

A dosa is a savory, thin, crispy crepe made from fermented rice and lentil flour.

Dosas occupy a substantial part of the southern Indian diet and is popular all over the Indian subcontinent. It can be made soft or crispy according to your preference. Traditionally, dosas are served with a bowl of sambar (stew made with lentils, mixed vegetables, tamarind, herbs, spices and a special aromatic spice powder known as sambar powder) and coconut chutney.

Here is a quick guide to help you decide on the right dosa for you. There are three different bases that you can choose from:

Dosa – A thin, crispy, savory crepe.

Rava Dosa – Made from semolina, rice flour and plain flour, which doesn’t require fermentation. It has a grainy and net-like texture and can be made soft or crispy according to your preference.

Uttapam – More like a soft, savory pancake made with fermented batter and grilled until it is soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.

All of our dosas are served with:

Sambar – A spiced vegetable-lentil soup. A variety of vegetables and lentils with spices and tamarind pulp make it a super flavorful treat.

Coconut Chutney – Freshly grated coconut tempered with spices and mustard seeds.

Tomato-Onion-Peanut Chutney – Neehee’s signature chutney that is sweet and spicy with a sour undertone.
