About Neehee's

The concept and realization of the Neehee's restaurant was the inspiration of the Patel family, brother Rikesh and Vrijesh, and their wives Dipali and Krishna, from the Gujarat region of India. The name "Neehee's" comes from their daughters, Niyati for Ni (pronounced "Nee") and Heeya ("Hee"). In Hindi, Niyati means "destiny" and Heeya means "heart". At Neehee's, everyone in the family business works toward one goal — customer satisfaction.

The Patels started on their journey of Neehee's when opened Suraj Indian Grocery in 2004. The store became successful through their variety of Indian products but namely for their food offerings like samosas and their wildly popular freshly squeezed sugarcane juice. By 2006, the store had a food counter to serve their delicious food items. In 2009 they opened Neehee’s, an Indian vegetarian street food restaurant at 45656 Ford Road in Canton, Michigan. Diners traveled from all parts of southeast Michigan as well as areas as far as Chicago, Toronto, and Ohio to sample from their menu of over 150 delectable dishes. In Fall 2016, Neehee’s opened a 7,000 square foot standalone building in Troy at 4924 Rochester Road.

With an expansive dining room, groups of up to 20 can enjoy a meal together, corporate training and meetings can be conducted in their education room and a large digital screen rotates through local events and international broadcasts of cricket, a popular sport in India. Neehee’s prides itself on offering a wide array of vegan, gluten-free, orthodox (no onion or garlic), and kids’ menu items as well.
